The Sierra Nevada ski resort- situated in Granada, Andalucía, Spain- has broken its all-time sales record after launching a discounted long-term ski pass advance purchase campaign.
The president of Cetursa Sierra Nevada and Minister of Development, Articulation of the Territory, and Housing of the Board, Marifrán Carazo, hailed the success of the campaign after almost 5,200 passes were sold, covering 10, 15, or 20 days. The figures include season passes for individuals and families.
Through a press release, Carazo added “The Sierra Nevada user is assessing the improvements implemented by the team led by Jesús Ibáñez with the support of the Junta de Andalucía. The strong investments to improve all the services of Sierra Nevada are reflected in data such as the advance sale of ski passes and underline the public’s confidence in the station”.
The company said the resort will maintain the discounts for early purchase of long-term ski passes until 10 November.
Investment in the Sierra Nevada ski resort includes the new Borreguiles chairlifts
This week, 65 percent of the construction on the new Emile Allais and Veleta II chairlifts has been completed. The President of Cetursa Sierra Nevada and Councilor for Development, Territorial Planning, and Housing, Marifrán Carazo, made the announcement while touring the Borreguiles construction site with members of the resort’s management company’s board of directors and a group of businessmen from the Sierra Nevada region.
“The works are progressing as planned so that this coming season we will be able to enjoy two new ski lifts and a completely reorganised area for beginners such as Borreguiles,” said Marifrán Carazo, adding that the works are a “major challenge because work can only be carried out in the summer months and part of the autumn”.
