Ryanair’s handling services have called off strikes that would have affected 22 Spanish airports.

Workers at Azul Handling, the ground handling company that services Irish low-cost carrier Ryanair (RYA.I) in 22 Spanish airports, have called off a plan to hold several 24-hour strikes between Oct. 28 and Jan. 8 to demand better working conditions, union USO said on Friday.

A spokesperson for USO said minimum services set by the Transport Ministry were “abusive and clearly detrimental to the exercise of the right to strike, making it absolutely unfeasible.”

The handling services labour force was demanding negotiations on a new collective agreement and sought breakthroughs on issues such as occupational risk prevention and working shifts
