Estepona Town Hall has launched a new campaign to support local businesses and encourage trade in the area
The Town Hall of Estepona in the region of Andalucia, Spain, hopes to encourage citizens in the area to make their purchases in the town’s shops and make more use of the local cafes and restaurants.
Councilor Cristina Cintrano, from the Commerce Department, explained that as of this week posters will be distributed in different parts of the city with the campaign that has the slogan ‘Our shops, our hospitality, our companies. All together we make a better Estepona.´
Cintrano said, “With it (the campaign), the aim is to make citizens aware of how important it is to support our business fabric because this helps to boost the economy and maintain and create local employment.”
He also stressed that small and medium-sized businesses contribute to city life because they keep urban centers, neighbourhoods, and residential areas alive and referred to the close, personalised and professional service that local businesses offer their customers.
According to the councillor, the City Council has made great efforts to avoid bureaucratic obstacles that could delay the implementation of these projects, with the aim of promoting entrepreneurship. Thus, the Consistory has carried out important work to simplify the procedures and streamline the processes that must be carried out for the creation of new companies.
