Estepona town hall has announced that the Christmas lights will be switched on tonight at 7.0pm, Friday, December 2

There are newly illuminated areas to be enjoyed this year, such as the recently remodeled Plaza del Ajedrez and the pedestrianized section of Avenida de España.

Along with over 100 new lighting points, there will be more than 2,100 decorative elements illuminating every corner of the city.

To welcome the festive period, the City Council will switch the lights on at 7:00 p.m. in the remodeled section of Avenida España. Crowds will be entertained by a young artist from Estepona, Nayeli Ruiz ( who performed on The Voice for kids in Spain) together with performances from the pastorals of the Jesús Cautivo Brotherhood and ‘Nostalgia Navideña’.

This year, the Botanical-Orquidario Park gardens will be bathed in light and will once again host a Christmas market, spreading to the newly remodeled section of the promenade.

On display around the town, there will be 10 ‘Merry Christmas’ signs and 11 almond trees with lights over 4 meters high located in the roundabouts. In addition, a total of 85 led light motifs will be installed in the streets of the old town that have been remodeled within the ‘Estepona, Jardín de la Costa del Sol project and 60 led curtains on the palm trees on the promenade.
