Expect traffic delays in Torremolinos in the coming weeks while the town hall begins to resurface roads across the Andalucian municipality
The works, which will begin on Tuesday, December 27 and affects a total of 35,000 square meters of roads in the municipality with an investment of more than 450,000 euros
The mayoress of Torremolinos, Margarita del Cid, emphasizes that “our commitment is to give continuity to actions of this type, which together with the renewal of the signage of the municipality and the review of road signs, suppose a fine-tuning at the road level and mobility in the municipality”
The mayor announced the work will start on Miguel Fernández Alcauza avenue, in the Entrepinos urbanisation. This area will be the first location to benefit from the planned road resurfacing.
” We have raised an asphalt plan that serves very different areas of the city but I want to emphasize that this is the first of many asphalt plans that this government team intends to initiate”, said the mayoress of Torremolinos, Margarita del Cid who has announced that “the actions add up to more than 450,000 euros of budgets and have an estimated execution period of around two months, a total of 34,396.67 m² will be completely renovated”, said the mayor.
Del Cid recalled that the last time that the road surfaces were asphalted was in 2016 and that “among our priorities is urban regeneration at all scales, and that means not letting decades go by without the asphalt being reformed.”
“ Our commitment is to give continuity to actions of this type, which together with the renovation of the municipal signage and the revision of the road signs, suppose a fine-tuning at the road and mobility level in the municipality”, explained Del Cid.
The actions, which will begin on Miguel Fernández Alcauza avenue, in the Entrepinos urbanisation, include works in the following places and order: Sebastián Souviron avenue, José María Amado Arniches street, Plaza del Remo, La Colina street, Capri street, Rafael street Quintana Rosado, Pez Dorado Street, Maestro Solano Street, Río Guadalope Street, and Río Bergantes Street.
Traffic delays are expected, however, residents will be notified in advance and alternative traffic routes will be put in place.
