Spain’s meteorological agency, Aemet, has released a weather forecast for the next 10 days
Aemet has predicted a relatively stable and sunny end to 2022 in Spain and for the first week of 2023. The exception will be in the northwest of the country, where rain, showers, and lower temperatures are expected.
A spokesperson for AEMET, Ruben del Campo, forecast sunny weather for the south of the country, although there remains the possibility of fog banks in the interior. The current hazy weather will continue in Spain’s Canary Islands, where this will reduce visibility to less than 3,000 metres and worsen air quality.
Strong winds will also continue to blow across the Islands and may have an effect on air travel.
It is likely that some rainfall will be seen in the Galician community on Saturday, December 31. In the rest of Spain, it is going to be a very quiet New Year’s Eve in terms of the weather with daytime temperatures on Saturday reaching close to 25ºC in some areas of the southeast of the peninsula and also in the Canary Islands.
On Spain’s Costa del Sol, the summers are short, warm, humid, arid, and mostly clear and the winters are long, cool, windy, and partly cloudy. During the course of the year, the temperature generally ranges from 8°C to 31°C and rarely drops below 4°C or rises above 36°C.
