The face of Prince Harry appears on his new book In The Shade

Several bookstores in Spain were selling Prince Harry’s much-awaited memoir book on Thursday, January 5, five days ahead of the book’s official launch date

The Spanish edition of Harry’s book (En La Sombra – In The Shade) has an official launch date of January 10.

As first reported by The Guardian newspaper, a scan of the book confirmed a passage first in which King Charles’ son described being knocked to the floor during an argument with his older brother, heir to the throne, Prince William.

A spokesperson for the Spanish publisher, Barcelona-based Plaza y Janes Editores – which belongs to multinational conglomerate Penguin Random House – said;

“A very clear launch protocol was established and communicated to all customers so that the book would not be marketed before that date. Everything points to the fact that some customers have breached their commitment to the publisher and have put the book on sale before the agreed date.”

The 557-page book is divided into three parts and features only three black and white photographs. The first part entitled The Night That Surrounds Me shows a close-up image of Harry with his arms around his late mother, Princess Diana.

The second part – Bloodied, but not down – contains a photo of Prince Harry in his uniform giving a military salute, while the third chapter – Captain of my soul – features a shot of Harry and his wife Meghan embracing one another.

The rise in interest to purchase the book comes after a series of clips from interviews with Anderson Cooper and Tom Bradby were shared online. These were published as well as leaked excerpts revealing Prince William “physically attacked” his brother in Nottingham Cottage.

A spokesperson for CelebTattler commented on the findings: “Ever since the Duke and Duchess of Sussex stepped down from working Royal life, they have been incredibly selective about the ways in which they share personal information, from a sit-down interview with TV magnate Oprah Winfrey or a Netflix series.

“However, these findings highlight that this autobiography from Prince Harry is set to be one of the most highly anticipated projects from the couple with people from all around the world seeking to buy a copy for themselves. It will be interesting to see how much more the Prince shares in the book about his departure as a working royal.”
