The decapitated corpse of a female, also missing the hands, was discovered today, Sunday, January 8, floating off Las Cañas beach in Marbella
The 091 Cimacc (emergency service) room received a call at 5:00 p.m. this Sunday from a group of customers from a restaurant located in the Marbesa urbanisation, alerting them to the discovery of a corpse floating in the sea close to Las Cañas beach in Marbella, near the Club 200 restaurant.
One of the customers offered to swim out and pull the body onto the shore but police advised against it as a storm was approaching. Identification will only be possible by taking DNA from the corpse as both the head (dental records) and hands (fingerprints) are missing. It was reported that the body had a large cut across the abdomen and appeared to be a woman of around 30 years of age.
The cause of death will only truly be determined after a forensic examination. Sources familiar with the incident have reported that an investigation has been opened to clarify the facts by the Guardia Civil.
