The price of electricity in the wholesale market, the so-called pool will cost an average of 13.22 euros/MWh this Tuesday, according to provisional data from the Iberian Energy Market Operator (OMIE). By the hour, it will be cheaper between 04:00 and 05:00 , with a minimum of 3 euros, and will maintain levels below 5 euros from 01:00 to 07:00. It should be remembered that to this wholesale price must be added the compensation to the gas companies, which must be paid by the consumers who are beneficiaries of the measure, those of the regulated tariff (PVPC) or those who, despite being on the free market, They have an indexed rate, which for this Tuesday stands at -0.62 euros/MWh.
In this context, the average price of electricity for regulated rate customers linked to the wholesale market from January 1 to 17, 2023 stands at 71.32 euros/MWh, while in the same period of 2022 it was 190. .4 euros/MWh, that is, almost three times more expensive.
After this new decrease, the price of electricity will be nearly 98% lower than that of a year ago, when it stood at 245 euros/MWh, and will be at levels much lower than those registered in most countries. of the environment.
