Low-cost Irish carrier Ryanair redoubles its commitment to Spain’s Alicante by announcing ten new routes from the airport

For 2023, the company is introducing several new destinations, including Turin, Warsaw, Belfast, Frankfurt Hahn, Rome Fiumicino, and Santander. To celebrate the new routes from Alicante-Elche Miguel Hernández Airport, a special flight offer starting at €29.99 for travel between April and October has been launched.

The airline has confirmed plans to increase flight frequencies on the 30 “most popular” routes departing or landing at Alicante airport as part of its efforts to enhance its service. Notable among these are routes connecting the city to destinations such as Bordeaux, London Stansted, Milan, Bergamo, Porto, and Bologna.

Ryanair is set to experience a ‘record schedule’ with a 19% growth compared to the summer of 2022, thanks to these developments. Furthermore, the airline has revealed its intention to station two new aircraft in Alicante this summer, bringing the total number of company aircraft in operation to 13 when the province experiences hot weather.

Ryanair has invested a staggering $200 million in the acquisition of new aircraft. The company has highlighted that four of these planes will emit 16% less fuel emissions and accommodate 4% more passengers. It is estimated that they will transport more than 6.3 million passengers annually once they become operational.

Furthermore, Ryanair has confirmed that its expansion plans, which include fleet growth, the establishment of new routes, and reinforcement of existing ones, will create over 5,000 jobs, including 390 direct positions. The airline has emphasized that this growth is supported by an investment of $1.3 billion in the Alicante-Elche Airport.
