This tragic event occurred just 48 hours before the city receives the first great flood of tourists of the year for Holy Week. Some dates on which the hotel businesses of the tourist capital of the Valencian Community and one of the most demanded destinations on the entire Mediterranean coast expect to reach 90% occupancy.
Most establishments are already classified as technically full leading up to Holy Week.
Benidorm’s beaches are ready for Easter, the first major holiday event of the year and which, starting this weekend, will bring hundreds of thousands of tourists to the city.
This was verified by the mayor, Toni Pérez, and the councillor for Beaches, Mónica Gómez, who indicated that “as usual, during the next two weeks the rescue, first aid and cleaning services will be reinforced to size them to the occupation that our sandbanks will present on the occasion of Holy Week”.
