Ferry operator Baleària has cancelled several ferries from the port of Dénia in Valencia due to the storms caused by DANA
The company had already announced the suspension of the Dénia-Ibiza and Dénia-Palma routes, which were scheduled to depart at 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 3.
The reason given for these cancellations is the maritime storm that DANA (cold, low-pressure front with torrential rain) has brought and that has also affected other company trips between Ibiza and Formentera. It should be remembered that the Aemet has also issued a warning for maritime storms across the region.
September 2023: A DANA affected Valencia and other parts of Spain, bringing intense rain and flooding to some areas. According to the web search results, here are some of the impacts and consequences of the DANA in Valencia:
- The DANA complicated car travel in Valencia and forced it to cut a metro line due to a sinkhole. The heavy rain caused problems with vehicles blocked on the road and water leaks in homes. The emergency services intervened in several incidents related to the rain, such as people trapped in cars, landslides, and fires caused by lightning.
- The DANA flooded Valencia with strong rain and threatened with hail. The rain reached up to 60 litres per square meter in some places like Torrevieja. The meteorological agency activated the alerts for heavy rain and storms, especially on the coast.
