Microsoft’s €2 Billion Investment Fuels The Artificial Intelligence Infrastructure in Spain’s Technology Industry

Software giant Microsoft continues its European investment spree by announcing a €2 billion investment in Spain to expand its AI and cloud infrastructure, massive data centers will also be built.

Microsoft has revealed its latest significant venture in Europe, earmarking €2 billion to enhance its artificial intelligence (AI) and cloud infrastructure in Spain.

Following close discussions with Spain’s Prime Minister, Pedro Sánchez, Brad Smith, Microsoft’s vice chair and president, shared the company’s commitment on the social media platform X. Over the next two years, Microsoft intends to fulfill its investment pledge in Spain. Smith emphasized that the initiative encompasses more than constructing data centers; it entails aiding in the advancement of the country’s security, development, and digital transformation across government, businesses, and society.

According to Brad Smith, the company has been investing in Spain for 37 years. The firm announced a new research and development hub in September 2021, the funding was for AI technologies based in Barcelona, Spain.
