The Sierra Nevada ski resort has opened the 22/23 season with a new eight-seater Emile Allais chairlift
The popular resort, located in Granada, Andalucia, Spain, has launched the new Emile Allais chairlift that coincides with the opening of the 2022/23 winter campaign.
The Emile Allais is a detachable eight-seater chairlift that improves on the previous one in terms of capacity, speed, comfort, and energy efficiency. The other lift that opens in a few days, the Alhambra chairlift, with characteristics similar to the Emile Allais – are co-financed by React EU funds.
The new lifts will allow for better organisation of the Borreguiles beginner’s area and make it easier to connect with the other ski lifts in the resort.
A total of 780 skiers have booked spaces and 530 cabins are already in use. The Granada ski resort has invested of more than 20 million euros aimed at improving facilities and services.
“This is the largest investment in a season in Sierra Nevada – more than 20 million euros – and a renovation in mechanical means that is unprecedented in the recent history of the station,” said the president of Cetursa Sierra Nevada, who, Together with the CEO Jesús Ibáñez, he verified the operation of the Emile Allais and wished “a great season” for workers, businessmen and users of the station.
