Massive Fire Engulfs La Bajadilla Fishing Port Marbella

A massive fire that started around 7 pm on Wednesday, January 11, at La Bajadilla Port has engulfed Marina Marbella in Malaga Spain

The blaze has virtually destroyed one of the oldest and most established nautical companies on the Costa del Sol- Marina Marbella.

The warehouse, located in the fishing Port, has been burning since 7:30 p.m. spewing thick black smoke and flames that can be seen from miles away.

Firefighters fought to put out a fire that edged mercilessly near the docks. The flames did not affect the offices or the glass building at the entrance to Marbella. However, they did reach the workshops where over a hundred boats were stored for sale or repair, according to the head of the Marbella Fire Service, Medardo Tudela.

More than thirty firefighters and 10 fire engines were at the scene of the fire, as well as members of the Local Police, Civil Protection, and emergency health services.

The fire was considered as controlled around 22:00. An investigation into the cause of the blaze will likely start on Thursday.
