Spains Marbella will host a world wellness congress within the framework of the ‘World Wellness Weekend’
Marbella will host a world wellness congress this year within the framework of the seventh edition of the ‘World Wellness Weekend’, an event in which 140 countries participate and which has had a reach of 19 million people since its inception.
The event, created in 2017 by Jean Guy de Briac, is based on promoting “a worldwide weekend of free activities related to good nutrition, sports, quality sleep, massages or treatments” giving place to global open days for the sector so that professionals give visibility to their establishments and users can learn about the varied offer of our city”.
The Director General of Tourism, Laura de Arce, stressed that the town, which debuted last year in this global initiative, was proclaimed world champion as the city with the greatest number of activities, with a total of 337 free initiatives over three days.
“Marbella led the European and world ranking for the volume of scheduled appointments in its first year of participation, which shows the local strength of a sector that is booming. This initiative is in line with the values that we want to transmit as a destination of quality and excellence in the health and wellness segment,” said de Arce.
De Arce announced that the new edition ‘World Wellness Weekend’ will be announced this week at the Fitur International Tourism Fair in Madrid, led by the congress ambassador, Lucía Romero.
Marbella first participated in the ‘World Wellness Weekend’ on September 16 to 18, 2022.
