THE POLICE in Fuengirola have arrested a serial arsonist they believe is responsible for at least 11 fires in the seaside town of Malaga, Spain
National Police officers have arrested a man in the municipality of Fuengirola, Malaga as a suspect in eleven arson cases. According to investigations, the suspect, a resident of the area, has been committing these crimes since last June.
The investigation began in June 2022 when several burning trash cans were discovered in different areas of the center of Fuengirola. The suspect always acted in the early morning and caused damage to other furnishings in the area where he operated, according to a statement.
The investigations conducted have allowed the officers to locate and arrest the suspect. He allegedly had caused damage to other items, and on one occasion even caused a power outage in the area, after setting a rubbish bin on fire that was near electrical cables.
The suspect was arrested on January 16th and subsequently taken to police headquarters as a suspect in eleven arson crimes. The case is being handled by the Court of Instruction number 4 of Fuengirola.
