Torremolinos is ready to rock during a four-day retro music festival which takes place from Thursday 2nd until Sunday 5 February
The Principe de Asturias auditorium, the Hotel Barracuda, and the Plaza del Remo will all host performances during the Rockin’ Race Jamboree, a four-day rock and roll festival, in Torremolinos.
The festival, which has been going on for close to 30 years, this year will feature a sizable retro dance floor outside the city hall. The dance floor will be situated in an 800-person capacity marquee that was particularly imported from Holland for the occasion.
This well-known festival of American roots music, one of the biggest of its kind in Europe, will begin on Thursday, 2 February, and will draw attendees from all around Europe and the UK. There will be a wide range of rockabilly, blues, surf, rhythm and blues, and boogie-woogie music performed by more than 40 groups from around the globe.
It costs 55 euros every night, or 95 euros for the four days, to enter the main concerts hosted in the auditorium and the marquee. Visit www.rockinrace.com for details on tickets and concerts.
All other concerts, including those presented in participating bars and music venues like the Plaza del Remo and Hotel Barracuda, are free to attend. Another novelty this year, according to the organizers, will be the festival’s own beer.
Online ticket sales have already finished. Available tickets will be sold at the festival’s box office. Remember that the capacity of the Auditorium/festival is limited and it may be the case that the tickets run out.
