The National Police have dismantled a drug trafficking ring in Benalmádena and arrested three family members on multiple charges
Agents of the National Police have dismantled a criminal organization dedicated to drug trafficking, on a small to medium scale, in Benalmádena. Three members of the same family have been arrested as alleged perpetrators of group membership crimes crime and crimes against public health.
In the course of the operation, the investigators seized 484.96 grams of cocaine, 773.97 grams of MDMA and cutting substances such as caffeine, phenacetin, and sulfur; and other effects such as mobile phones, a vehicle and tools for weighing, packaging and distributing the drug.
The investigation began in October 2022 due to indications of the existence of a criminal group, based in the town of Benalmádena, whose members — all members of the same family — would be engaged in small- and medium-scale drug trafficking.
The agents made the first investigations and discovered that the network members distributed cocaine in the towns of Torremolinos and Benalmádena. The Provincial Police Station reported that they carried out illegal activity and had a high standard of living.
Later in the investigation, the agents verified the facts by examining arrest records in the area and collecting other evidence that supported the authorization to enter and search the home of the main suspects. These suspects, who were responsible for preparing and distributing the drug on a small and medium scale, were identified as the leaders of the organization.
Once the members of the plot were identified, the police carried out an operation and arrested them for crimes against public health and membership of a criminal organization. The judicial authority ordered the principal suspect to be put in prison.
