New businesses are thriving and have almost doubled in the town of Fuengirola in Malaga province compared to 2022
During the first two months of 2023, a hundred new business permits were processed, compared to the 45 that were recorded in the same period, a year ago. The pace of local entrepreneurship, close to two new establishments per day, is complemented by good employment data, the best record in the last fifteen years
Fuengirola has doubled the opening of new businesses compared to the first two months of 2022. This was stated by the mayoress Ana Mula, who in the company of the Councilor for Commerce, Francisco Javier García, has visited one of the establishments that have recently obtained municipal permission to undertake their business adventure.
As reported, during the first two months of 2023, a hundred requests for new businesses were attended to and granted. A figure much higher than the 45 that were recorded in the same period, a year ago.
“We are talking about almost two new establishments open per day. It is excellent news. Because a new business means economic movement and more employment for the city. This growth makes it clear that Fuengirola is an ideal and attractive place to undertake any kind of business project”, she stated.
In this way, in January of this year, a total of 47 new openings were registered, compared to the fourteen that were registered a year earlier. For its part, in February 53 files were recorded, which turned out to be 22 more than in the same month of 2022. Most of them are related to the service sector, highlighting areas such as food, hospitality or beauty.
Likewise, Ana Mula has indicated that the town is registering “the best employment data of the last fifteen years.” Not in vain, according to the Public State Employment Service, the number of unemployed Fuengirolians rose to 5,844. They are, as he has pointed out, almost 900 fewer people unemployed than in February 2022.
“Fuengirola is a thriving and dynamic city. This is what these indicators are confirming to us, which is confirming the good progress of our economy. It is not necessary to launch the bells on the fly, but it is clear that, among all of us, the council, businessmen and entrepreneurs, we are making our town a place with more and more opportunities and with high levels of quality of life and well-being ”, stressed the councillor.
