The public service will have 40 buses and the new bus routes will connect Valencia in Spain to 16 other municipalities
The Ministry of Territorial Policy, together with the Board of Directors of the Valencia Metropolità Transport Authority (ATMV), has approved the update of the CV-103 Valencia Nord-Oest road public transport service project, which will connect the city of Valencia and the municipalities of Benaguasil, Benissanó, Bétera, Bugarra, Burjassot, Gestalgar, la Pobla de Vallbona, l’Eliana, Llíria, Náquera, Paterna, Pedralba, Riba-Roja de Túria, San Antonio de Benagéber, Serra and Vilamarxant.
The new project adds connections to the Polytechnic University and with the University of Valencia; four-night lines for all municipalities; the connection with the Llíria Hospital and with that of Dr Moliner, as well as with Feria Valencia, shopping and leisure centres. Thus, a total of 15 lines, with a series of variants, and 4-night lines, will carry out 183,850 expeditions and 3,402,549.489 kilometres per year.
According to a statement by the Generalitat, the service will see an increase of 106%, thanks to the addition of 40 buses, 30 of which will be hybrids and 10 diesel.
The improved service will lead to a doubling of the current frequency, resulting in a general enhancement. Regional Minister for Territorial Policy, Public Works and Mobility, Rebeca Torró, along with the regional secretary for Public Works, Transport and Sustainable Mobility, María Pérez, and the director of the ATMV, Manuel Martínez, made the announcement electronically.
This move by the Ministry of Territorial Policy, Public Works and Mobility is a step forward in the provision of public transportation services in the metropolitan area of Valencia, complementing the five services that were previously put out to tender. The Ministry has earmarked 9 million euros annually for this new service, which is part of the Generalitat’s new model, designed to improve efficiency and sustainability.
