A man in Madrid killed his ex-partner and his three-year-old daughter in a possible case of gender violence
In what is being looked into as a potential case of sexist violence, the police have detained a man in connection with the stabbing of his ex-partner, a 25-year-old woman, and their 3-year-old daughter this Monday morning in a building on Jacobeo Street in the Madrid neighbourhood of Carabanchel.
According to police sources, the 24-year-old man was arrested after he was found in the same house where the bodies of the woman and the girl were discovered with stab wounds to his neck. He was given a serious prognosis and was taken to Hospital.
It is believed that he attempted suicide after killing the woman and the girl with a knife.
The investigation of the event, which occurred around 12:30 a.m., has been taken over by the National Police , which is investigating it as a possible sexist crime. If confirmed, it could be the 53rd sexist murder committed in Spain so far this year.
